Recreation Programs and Events
The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of enrichment programs for children, teens and adults that foster human development, education and socialization. These programs provide a safe, fun, and structured atmosphere that children enjoy and parents appreciate. In addition, The Gilbert Community Center offers a wide variety of classes, activities and special events to anyone 50+. The senior center is an active place with a positive atmosphere. The focus is on health and wellness programs, instilling healthy habits and enhanced lifestyle opportunities. The programs support today’s active seniors and strive to improve the health and well-being of all community seniors.

Parks and Open Space
The Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department oversees 605 acres of developed parks, which include amenities such as a skate park, athletic fields, playgrounds, ramadas, dog parks, tennis courts, basketball courts, lakes, and water features. Parks are also utilized for sports tournaments and many special events. The objective of the parks division is to provide safe and well-maintained parks, trails, and open space resources for the residents of Gilbert and visiting patrons.
