" Hitchhiker", portrait by Jane Bradley in oil was the winner of the first annual Gilbert Art Award presented by the Gilbert Parks and Recreation Foundation. It is based on an actual scene she and her husband photographed in South Dakota. The painting, valued at $6000, was judged to reflect the vision of Gilbert's heritage by Johnny Cioara, foundation board member and Bobbi Buchli, Town of Gilbert councilwoman after much deliberation.
Jane Bradley is a long-time resident of Gilbert, a gifted, awarded, and talented professional artist of many years. The award was presented at the Gilbert Visual Art League (GVAL) 23rd annual Fine Art Show reception on March 15th at the new Severson Center with over 130 paintings and sculptures that were judged previously and given awards. GVAL wishes to graciously thank the foundation for their support especially for the many talented and gifted local artists here. We look forward to the Gilbert Art Award for 2027. |
